What are Google search suggestions based on?

Based on predictive search,  Google Suggest ("  autocomplete  ", in English) , is a search assistance service allowing the Internet user to target and refine their query in real time in order to obtain   useful keyword suggestions to integrate into your  SEO strategy. Algorithmically generated, these predictions correspond to the frequency of searches for a term by Internet users. The most searched term appears at the top of the list, or more precisely:

  • When other Internet users enter the content of web pages
  • Relevant searches carried out from the Internet user's own computer (if the Internet user is connected and the “Web and application activity” option is activated).
  • Any associated Google+ profiles in the case of a people search

For Google, search suggestions reflect the diversity of information on the web.

Google Suggest is present both in the browser toolbar (Google Toolbar) and on the Google search engine page.

In some cases, Google Suggest search predictions don't appear because the term isn't popular enough, too new, or doesn't meet Google's validation rules.

When an Internet user types a business or individual name into the Google search bar, the terms displayed by Google Suggest can impact their  e-reputation .
